FUDECO Adamawa State Chapter has completed the building of Ardo Kaku Community School in Fufore

FUDECO Adamawa State Chapter has completed the building of Ardo Kaku Community School in Fufore LGA inluding a water well, reservoir and a toilet, from personal donations.

The school which started under a tree, was created by FUDECO as part of the Pastoralist Girls Education Advocacy Project. Initially 30 girls from the IDP communities in the state were sponsored by FUDECO. Now the school has almost 200 children.

FUDECO got support from local education authorities in form of a head teacher and learning materials from Nomadic Education Commission. In 2017, Ardo Kaku community were attacked by farmer-militias in Numan and 70 members of their settlement were killed mostly women and children as the men were away in the market.

Their homes where they settled for several decades were burnt down. They were chased out and they resettled in Fufore LGA to rebuild their lives. We commend Jibo Alhaji Manu, Adamawa State Chapter Secretary for very competently managing the building of this school from start to finish. The school is still lacking benches and takes.
